In the past year, what project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of?
The 630,000 s/f Morgan North redevelopment project in Manhattan was one of the two exciting assignments I have worked on in the past year. For my firm’s client Tishman Speyer, we have designed an expansion and redevelopment of a large portion of the sprawling, 1933-heritage USPS sorting facility into a commercial office building. The project, currently under construction, includes a two-acre roof garden, which will be the largest green roof in Manhattan; new lobbies; and interior spaces. An exciting project that will reshape the Chelsea/Midtown West neighborhood. Another development I have enjoyed working on is a 100-unit residential building soon to break ground in Jamaica, N.Y. Our architectural team designed an eight-story mixed-income building that will include a senior housing component. The project’s design challenges included a high number of residence layout variations to accommodate different types of tenants.
